Job Summary

The Field Operations Supervisor is a key role that requires knowledge of yard and transportation operations, as well as leadership skills to manage a team. This position is responsible for overseeing operation functions and drivers, ensuring efficient coordination and execution of tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all activities for the yard, supervising technicians and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Coordinator and Routers to optimize routes, pick-ups, and deliveries, maximizing routing efficiencies.
  • Analyze and report on operational activities, including routing efficiency, labor and overtime, fuel consumption, and quality of customer care.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve customer service and other issues, ensuring excellent communication within the division.
  • Work with Operations Supervisors at other yards to coordinate asset transfers, when necessary.
  • Maintain proper staffing levels to meet and exceed customer and branch needs.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in coordinating logistics for special events and work special events.
  • Review and approve paperwork from drivers, including manifests, P&D tickets, route sheets, and DVIRs, ensuring completion and accuracy.
  • Review and approve Time Saver punches prior to submitting for payroll processing, as well as time off request forms and schedule time off based on operational necessity.
  • Oversee fleet DOT administration, including log books and record maintenance.
  • Administer the Company's safety program for the driver function, working with Safety and HR to coordinate safety training, as needed.
  • Develop and conduct periodic performance reviews for employees.
  • Operate a variety of company vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-year/Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field and/or training.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven leadership experience leading a diverse team to accomplish results.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong team building and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
  • Sit while driving and stand while servicing products.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Repeat the same movements.
