The Operating Room at Highland Hospital provides a dynamic and collaborative environment where innovative technology is utilized, and surgeries are conducted daily in our modern facility, featuring 15 advanced operating rooms. Surgical Technologists play a crucial role in the surgical process, contributing their expertise and critical thinking abilities.
Work Schedule:
Full-time positions are available with a day/evening rotation from Monday to Friday, including on-call responsibilities for nights, weekends, and holidays. Highland Hospital is recognized for its commitment to compassionate patient care and has received Magnet redesignation.
Role of the Surgical Technologist:
The Surgical Technologist is an integral member of the surgical team, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical staff to ensure optimal patient care. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
- Assisting during surgical procedures by providing the necessary instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Participating in post-operative care and ensuring proper handling of surgical instruments.
Compensation:
PAY RANGE: $32.11
*The stated pay range reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for this position. Individual salaries will be determined based on various factors, including market data, education, experience, and qualifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a nationally and NYS accredited surgical technology program and possession of a certified surgical technologist credential from a recognized organization (e.g., National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting).
- Certification: Current American Heart Association BLS CPR Certification is required.
- Skills: Proficiency in aseptic techniques and comprehensive knowledge of surgical instruments is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential.
