Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will engage in establishing therapeutic relationships with patients, delivering patient care aligned with the Department of Nursing's policies and objectives.
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the LPN will provide essential nursing services, monitor the health and safety of psychiatric patients, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans.
- Provide clinical guidance to direct care staff regarding patient health needs.
- Ensure proper management of medications and treatment supplies.
- Administer medications and conduct treatment procedures in accordance with nursing standards.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document patient observations.
- Assist patients with daily living activities and monitor vital signs as required.
- Engage in purposeful patient rounds and modify care environments as needed.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a diploma from an accredited LPN program and have at least one year of practical nursing experience, preferably in psychiatric care.
A valid LPN license in Georgia and current BLS certification from the American Heart Association are required.
Preferred Experience
Experience in long-term care or inpatient psychiatric settings is highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare-related software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold patient care standards.
- Capability to perform routine nursing procedures and maintain accurate records.
Compensation and Benefits
The LPN position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $24.00 to $28.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
