Overview

Position: School Floor Technician

Shift: 2pm - 9:30pm

Compensation: $11.25 per hour

The School Floor Technician is responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks in specified areas within an educational environment, including K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. This role focuses on the maintenance and care of both carpeted and hard surface flooring.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • One year of relevant work experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer service is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices.
  • Perform sweeping, mopping, and debris removal in designated locations.
  • Regularly check and empty trash receptacles as needed.
  • Adhere to procedures for using cleaning chemicals and equipment to avoid damage.
  • Report any maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Establish effective communication with clients and team members.
  • Sort and manage recycling materials appropriately.
  • Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Polish hard surfaces, including wood and stainless steel.
  • Clean and sanitize food area surfaces.
  • Move furniture and equipment as necessary for cleaning purposes.
  • Wash windows and glass surfaces using appropriate cleaning methods.
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal and yard maintenance.
  • Ensure restrooms are kept clean and well-maintained.
  • Comply with all safety and quality standards set by the company and regulatory authorities.
  • Utilize proper techniques for cleaning floors, including vacuuming and scrubbing.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions as per specifications.
  • Strip, seal, and polish floors as required.
  • Conduct carpet cleaning and spot treatment as necessary.
