About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer (SSE) is a critical member of the development team at Rygen Technologies. As an architect, the SSE contributes to all levels of the software development life cycle (SDLC), from design to deployment.

The SSE delivers ongoing business impact across the team, product capability, or technical system. Key responsibilities include ensuring the quality of technical work, designing software or systems, and making technical decisions aligned with long-term needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, document, develop, test, and deploy code
  • Collaborate with product, design, and sales teams to understand customer needs and design thoughtful solutions
  • Design and implement user-facing features
  • Participate in code review and provide input
  • Mentor junior developers and provide guidance
  • Preserve architectural integrity and promote better practices
  • Work across multiple components to deliver cohesive solutions

Requirements

  • Several years of software engineering experience
  • Experience across the stack, from UI libraries to backend technologies to database technologies and deployment infrastructure
  • Experience shipping features
  • Knowledge of common design patterns and architectures
  • Ability to communicate effectively and make informed decisions

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of TMS, OMS, or WMS systems
  • Knowledge of ANSI X12 EDI transaction sets
  • Experience developing a SaaS product
