Job Summary:

We're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machine Technician 2nd to perform a variety of tasks related to the setup, programming, and operation of CNC machine tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as experience with automation and associated controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC machine tools, including manual, MDI, and maintenance mode
  • Perform and understand G and M functions, analyze and diagnose problems, and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Run electric power, gas, and/or water lines to new or relocated production equipment, and level and axis align production equipment as directed by supervisor
  • Check equipment to ensure safety devices are functioning properly, and maintain repair replacement parts and maintenance supplies
  • Perform arc and acetylene welding operations to repair and fabricate equipment, and fabricate hoses, clamp on fittings, and safety devices
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections, make necessary repairs, and complete documentation of preventative maintenance inspection sheets per machine
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment, such as FANUC & ABB robots, and actively support the Safety program through participation in safety huddles, investigative safety teams, and conducting safety audits
  • Repair and maintain mechanical and hydraulic components of high-tech production machines and automated equipment, including metal fabricating tools, material handling systems, and automated lubrication systems
  • Monitor process control and part quality through SPC techniques, and involvement in departmental projects to offer input and advice that will help meet business plan objectives
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Five years experience in maintenance field, or Associate degree and three years experience in the maintenance field, or Five years experience in machine repair environment, or Journeyman card in maintenance field
  • Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations, understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and knowledge of automation and associated controls
