Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Reporting Relationship: Engineering Manager
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating technical CAD designs for structural steel and sheet metal fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and create 3D models using 3D modeling software.
- Ensure model accuracy and verify dimensions against customer prints.
- Create detailed shop drawings from 3D models and communicate with shop personnel.
- Organize and print paper and electronic copies of shop drawings.
- Generate DXF files for laser-cut parts and STP files for beam processor parts.
- Review projects and determine material quantities required.
- Assist the Sales Department with estimates and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical school program or Associate's degree in CAD Technology preferred.
- Two years of experience with building CAD design, with Mechanical, Structural, Sheet Metal, and Fabrication knowledge.
- Strong math and analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and Solid Edge, Solid Works, AutoCad 3D, and/or Inventor.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Work Environment: Our team works in a professional and deadline-oriented environment in a production setting. Interaction with co-workers and customers is expected.
