Position Objective: To acquire the skills necessary for the role of Automatic Press Operator while assisting in various production and documentation tasks. Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least six months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and basic math knowledge through testing.
  • Willingness to participate in off-site training sessions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong attendance record and work ethic.
  • Flexibility to train and work across various shifts.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Operators must possess a set of approved measuring tools.

Key Responsibilities:


Standard Operations:

  • Learn to set up, adjust, and troubleshoot dies for automatic presses using controls and sensors.
  • Assist in loading coils and operating departmental equipment to process parts.
  • Prepare and adjust feeders and verify raw materials against production requirements.
  • Accurately complete all production documentation, including scrap and move reports.
  • Understand and execute all setup procedures for presses.
  • Operate automatic presses according to established guidelines.
  • Package and organize parts per customer specifications.
  • Complete training to operate forklifts and cranes.
  • Monitor die status and prepare for upcoming jobs.
  • Utilize the Vulcan system for daily operations.
  • Learn to implement End of Run procedures.
  • Make necessary adjustments to ensure proper alignment.
  • Attend all required training sessions and pass necessary evaluations.

Quality Assurance:

  • Utilize measuring tools to ensure production quality meets specifications.
  • Understand and follow inspection protocols for quality alerts.
  • Ensure all measuring devices are calibrated and in good working order.
  • Learn to operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and interpret quality reports.
  • Document quality control procedures and report discrepancies.

Safety Protocols:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safety standards during all operational phases.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Organize work areas and participate in waste reduction initiatives.
