About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HII Corp. This role is responsible for researching, planning, designing, and developing mechanical products and systems.

The successful candidate will have extensive technical expertise in mechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and machines. They will apply their knowledge to further projects and assist junior engineers in their development.

This position requires strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical approaches and findings effectively. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 9 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and design mechanical systems, including turbines, hydraulic valves, centrifugal pumps, and foundations
  • Develop and test mechanical and electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and machines
  • Liaise with stakeholders to communicate project status and progress
  • Assist junior engineers with tasking and provide senior engineering support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 9 years of relevant experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to draw solutions quickly
  • Knowledge of operational principles for turbines and centrifugal pumps
