Helicopter Flight Commander - Multiple Locations

Position Overview
The Helicopter Flight Commander is accountable to the Pilot Supervisor and Chief Pilot. This role entails the operation of the aircraft in compliance with relevant Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company protocols, operational specifications, and the aircraft's operational limitations as outlined in the approved Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM).
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties include:
- Ensuring all necessary items and equipment are onboard the aircraft, including:
- Aircraft Registration
- Airworthiness Certificate
- AFM, Daily Logbook, and Company General Operations Manual (GOM)
- Current sectional aeronautical charts and supplements
- Passenger briefing materials
- Safety equipment such as first aid kits and fire extinguishers
- Life jackets for all occupants
Operational Checks:
- Reviewing the aircraft maintenance log to confirm all scheduled maintenance and inspections are current.
- Conducting preflight checks to ensure the aircraft is airworthy and loaded within center of gravity limits.
- Monitoring weather conditions, NOTAMs, and other relevant flight information.
- Providing thorough briefings to passengers regarding flight and emergency procedures.
- Filing flight plans as required for all operational flights.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours as Pilot-in-Command, with 500 hours in turbine aircraft.
- A valid Commercial-Instrument Helicopter Rating.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
Skills Required:
- Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Additional Requirements:
Candidates must pass a TSA/FBI background check and participate in FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs. Physical demands include the ability to lift 35 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions.
