Chief Traffic Engineer

The American Society of Plumbing Engineers is in search of dedicated professionals to join our Traffic Engineering division. We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented and possess a proactive mindset.

Under general supervision, the Principal Engineer will oversee, allocate, assess, and engage in the activities of staff responsible for delivering engineering services within a designated section. This includes the strategic planning and management of City Traffic Facilities, as well as the design and execution of various public works initiatives such as land development, traffic engineering, and infrastructure projects.

• Supervise and mentor engineering staff, ensuring adherence to established standards and policies.
• Engage with developers, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate infrastructure development.
• Conduct advanced engineering tasks and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Review and approve traffic-related plans and studies, ensuring compliance with City standards.
• Manage and oversee traffic engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and quality control.
• Compile and analyze traffic data to recommend improvements for City traffic facilities.
• Participate in the development of departmental goals, objectives, and policies.
• Prepare and manage budgets for assigned projects and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in civil engineering, particularly in traffic engineering. A valid professional engineering license is required.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical skills, the ability to manage complex projects, and effective communication skills. A thorough understanding of civil engineering principles and practices is essential.

This position primarily operates in an office setting but may require fieldwork to inspect development sites. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic work environment with varying conditions.
