We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse RN Intermediate Care PRN to join our team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a key member of our progressive care step-down unit, you will provide high-quality patient-centered care and collaborate with medical providers to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered nursing care and participate in patient and family education.
- Monitor heart rhythms, titrate select drips, and utilize critical thinking to manage patients on the critical care step-down unit.
- Create and implement care plans to meet each patient's unique needs, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers, and patient care staff.
- Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
- Coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain cultural and diversity awareness when interacting with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other customers.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 1 year of medical surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
