We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Regular Education Behavior Support Paraprofessional. This role will provide support and assistance to general education behavior support teachers in the implementation of the consultative behavioral support process.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in improving classroom management and climate through the implementation of effective behavioral strategies.
- Meet and instruct assigned individuals in locations and at the times designated by the behavior support staff.
- Assist the behavior support teacher in the implementation of programs of study that meet the individual needs and abilities of students.
- Provide input for assessing the accomplishments of students and assist in the collection of data.
- Implement sensory diets/protocols and positive behavioral supports/interventions as needed.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Support and assist school-based personnel in organizing, coordinating, planning, and directing the implementation of a comprehensive classroom instructional program.
- Qualify for a Paraprofessional Certificate by holding an Associate Degree or higher, or 90 college quarter hours/60 semester hours, or pass the assessment test for paraprofessionals (GACE).
- Mindset de-escalation certification or ability/willingness to complete Mindset certification is required.
- Experience working with and directing the activities of children.
