About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Airframe Specialist to join our team at Northrop Grumman Defense Systems. As a key member of our F-35 Sustainment team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities on F-35 aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities on F-35 aircraft, ensuring they are in exceptional mechanical condition and safe for flight.
  • Field-Level Modifications: Perform and/or assist with Field-Level Modifications and TCTD maintenance actions.
  • Aircraft Records and Status: Maintain and update aircraft records and status within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) of ALIS.
  • APG Tasks: Perform required Airframe and Powerplant General (APG) tasks as part of F-35 Contractor Logistics Support (CLS).
  • System Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair system failures detected during operational checks associated with maintenance and restoration of aircraft to flying condition.
  • Test Equipment and Technical Data: Interpret and use various test equipment and work from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
  • Certifications and Training: Obtain special certifications (e.g., confined space, borescope) as locally required and maintain qualification throughout duration of employment.
  • Deployment and Travel: Be willing to deploy/travel to fulfill customer's operational commitments.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Aircraft Maintenance Manager.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of four years of aircraft airframes experience.
  • Certifications and Clearances: U.S. Air Force 5 or 7-skill level, U. S. Navy, or U. S. Marine Corps CDI/CDQAR NEC, or equivalent FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Certification. Must have an Active Secret Clearance or higher (US Citizenship required), ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance.
  • Physical Demands: Meet the physical demands of this position, including regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach.
Preferred Qualifications
  • F-35 Experience: Six or more years of F-22, F-35 or 4th generation aircraft airframes systems maintenance.
  • Technical Knowledge: U. S. Navy, or U. S. Marine Corps experience with thorough understanding of F-35 Fighter Aircraft Systems and operations under COMNAVAIRFORINST and F-35 airframes systems troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Specialized Skills: F-35 electro hydraulic actuator replace and maintenance experience, aircraft modifications and maintenance experience, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical data.
  • Software and Systems: Experience and knowledge of Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) to include, Anomaly Fault Resolution System (AFRS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Joint Technical Data (JTD)Navigation, Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA)/Maintenance Vehicle Interface (MVI) activities, Configuration forms documentation Management and supply chain management activities.
