Job Summary

We are seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Per Diem RN, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, quality patient care using the nursing process and document accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator.
  • Provide patient/family education and act as a resource for existing staff and new employees.
  • Maintain communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to the patient.
  • Attend daily huddles on each unit to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift.
  • Project a caring, friendly, and helpful image to patients and other customers.
  • Comply with NMHS behavioral standards.
  • Maintain competency by staying informed of changing trends in the nursing practice.
  • Attend annual review and unit specifics within the department.
  • Perform required continuing education hours online and in classroom.
  • Comply with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
Requirements
  • Licensed by the board of Nursing for the state.
  • Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • ACLS certification (dependent on hiring department).
  • TB certification (dependent on hiring department).
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (dependent on hiring department).
  • ASLS Certified for Emergency Room.
  • NIH - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (dependent on hiring department).
