Job Title: Experienced Wind Turbine Technician for Main Component Exchange

As an Experienced Wind Turbine Technician for Main Component Exchange, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our nation's critical telecommunication and renewable energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support crane lifting operations of equipment at heights over 250 feet.
  • Conduct safe and efficient repairs to all Wind Turbine electrical systems.
  • Oversee lifting operations following skills verification of large components and ability to create, review, correct, and amend lifting plans.
  • Operate under properly performed Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) conditions and possibly as an Authorized Person.
  • Conduct pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs), and daily safety discussions.
  • Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
  • Properly document all work in a variety of electronic formats and provide feedback to the Safety and Quality department for business improvements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct product experience on one or more platforms such as GE, Vestas, Siemens.
  • Direct wind turbine specific experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics by various Wind Turbine manufacturers.
  • Main Component Exchange (MCE) experience required with additional knowledge in lifting operations.
  • Hold specific turbine manufacture certifications.
  • Detailed knowledge and skill in generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and major faults.
Physical/Work Environment:

At Pearce Services, safety is our top priority. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.

  • Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet.
  • Maintain a weight between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing and boots, for OSHA safety compliance.
  • Lift and move equipment as needed (more than 50 pounds).
  • Work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions with blowing pollen, dust, and grasses.
