SUMMARY
The City of Atlanta's Department of Human Resources (DHR) is in search of a skilled Senior Project Coordinator with a proven track record in managing medium to large-scale initiatives, strategic planning, process enhancement, and stakeholder engagement. This position reports directly to the Deputy HR Commissioner and is pivotal in driving significant progress and measurable outcomes aligned with DHR's objectives.
The Senior Project Coordinator will concentrate on short-term, impactful initiatives that are critical to DHR's strategic goals. The selected candidate will work closely with HR personnel within the department, across the city, and with external partners to pinpoint challenges, explore strategic opportunities, and devise implementation strategies for successful outcomes.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees medium to large-scale HR initiatives, leading project meetings, facilitating team collaboration, managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and ensuring on-time delivery;
- Employs project management methodologies and data analysis to identify issues and opportunities;
- Formulates performance enhancement recommendations and actionable implementation plans within defined constraints;
- Establishes objectives and develops action-oriented strategies to achieve departmental results;
- Collaborates with the department on strategic initiatives and execution plans for HR projects;
- Creates clear and concise documentation for effective communication of issues and recommendations;
- Delivers updates and results on HR projects;
- Supports DHR's strategic framework and best practices for innovation and performance improvement;
- Builds and nurtures relationships with various stakeholders effectively;
- Proactively identifies solutions;
- Completes assigned responsibilities;
This role requires outstanding problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, the capacity to lead transformations involving multiple stakeholders, prioritize competing demands, manage several projects concurrently, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and a resourceful, results-driven approach to work.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate excels in a dynamic, collaborative work environment and demonstrates a successful history in project management, process enhancement, and stakeholder collaboration. We seek professionals with exceptional strategic and interpersonal capabilities.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in business/public administration, finance, public policy, human resources management, or related fields;
- 3 - 5 years of experience in project management, business analysis, finance, operations, or consulting;
- Demonstrated success in delivering medium to large-scale projects on schedule and within budget;
- Master's degree in Business/Public Administration, Finance, Public Policy, Industrial Engineering, or relevant fields;
- 6-8 years of experience in project management, business analysis, finance, operations, or consulting;
- Experience in management, strategy, operational consulting, and human resources projects.
