Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agriculture Educator to join our team at Cornell Cooperative Extension. As an Agriculture Educator, you will be responsible for delivering established Agriculture in the Classroom curriculum to foster awareness, understanding, and appreciation of agriculture and food systems among youth and their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver educational programs to targeted audiences based on established Agriculture in the Classroom subject matter and existing research-based curriculum.
  • Provide educational programs to students in traditional classroom settings at local public and private schools, as well as non-traditional settings such as home-school groups and summer recreation programs.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for staff, volunteers, program participants, and other groups as they are identified.
  • Collect and analyze program evaluation data to inform program improvement and provide feedback to supervisors.
  • Assist with planning and evaluation of the delivery of established educational program goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or Associate Degree plus 2 years of transferrable program/functional experience.
  • Experience relevant to the role of this position.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral, written, and visual channels using traditional educational tools and methods.
  • Ability to present effective and relevant educational lessons to target audiences in group settings.
  • Ability to carry supplies and equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
Benefits

This is a part-time (32 hours/week), benefits-eligible, non-exempt position. The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $21.64 per hour and a range of benefits, including NYS Health Insurance Program, NYS Retirement, and Long-Term Disability Insurance.
