Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Associate Stormwater/Environmental Scientist to join our Water Resources Team in Southern California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Municipal Stormwater/NPDES Permits, Monitoring, Reporting, and/or Municipal Jurisdictional/Watershed Management Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of municipal water quality monitoring and reporting projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge monitoring programs, applying a deep understanding of environmental processes and various monitoring techniques.
  • Provide technical support and leadership in water quality, sediment, and/or biological monitoring, developing technically sound reports, plans, and other materials.
  • Support business development efforts by outreach to key clients and stakeholders to understand compliance monitoring challenges, key data gaps, and regulatory needs.
  • Prepare and manage project proposals, contracts, and task orders, ensuring successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Water Resource Engineering, Aquatic Biology/Chemistry, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in the Southern California Stormwater Industry, with a strong track record of project management and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific data and technical information effectively.
  • Familiarity with California's regulatory environment and water quality challenges, including TMDLs and key water quality initiatives.
  • Experience with Phase I MS4 Permits, especially for Southern California municipalities, and familiarity with Phase II Permits.
  • Certification with P.E., P.G., CPSWQ, CPESC, CESSWI, or QISP/QSD/P is desired.
