We are currently seeking to fill the position of:

Senior Risk Analyst

The Senior Risk Analyst will leverage analytical expertise to identify and evaluate potential risks that may impact the organization's financial stability, regulatory compliance, or reputation. This role requires collaboration with leadership, departmental managers, and legal teams to ensure comprehensive risk management strategies are in place. The Senior Risk Analyst will also coordinate with third-party administrators to manage and resolve claims effectively.

This position demands strong analytical capabilities to assess operational processes, business metrics, and loss trends, presenting findings to both internal and external stakeholders. A solid understanding of regulations related to Workers Compensation, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Health Departments is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings, audits, vendor meetings, and regulatory hearings.
  • Provide consultative support to mitigate organizational risks and legal liabilities through thorough assessments of work environments and processes.
  • Analyze historical loss data to identify trends and inform risk management strategies.
  • Develop and implement controls to minimize potential losses.
  • Conduct financial analyses to estimate the monetary impact of potential risks.
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote risk awareness and compliance with policies.
  • Regularly communicate with staff regarding updates and changes to self-insured claims programs.
  • Work closely with claim examiners and field locations to investigate claims as necessary.
  • Support the return-to-work program and assist in updating claims service instructions for third-party administrators.
  • Review claims documentation to assess liability and insurance coverage.
  • Refer complex claims to specialists for further investigation.
  • Partner with safety teams to enhance in-store safety programs in high-claim areas.
  • Assist in identifying organizational risks and ensuring adherence to evolving regulations.
  • Contribute to insurance renewal processes and budget recommendations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Risk Management and represent them in meetings as needed.
  • Lead projects aimed at improving existing risk management programs.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation: Competitive salary range based on experience.

Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of Workers Compensation regulations in California and Nevada.
  • Understanding of the ADA process and its implications within Workers Compensation.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Health Department regulations.
  • Experience with case management systems for job task analysis related to return-to-work assessments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • PREFERRED: General knowledge of Commercial Auto, Property, and General Liability coverages.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum of five years in a related field.

Travel: Up to 30% as required.

Work Environment: Office and various operational settings.
