Available Shifts:

  • Flexible scheduling options for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4 PM to 10 PM
  • Weekend shifts available on Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 7 PM, and from 7 PM to 7:30 AM

Position Overview: As a Youth Support Specialist, you will be tasked with overseeing young individuals who have experienced trauma, including abuse, neglect, and those from the LGBTQ community. Your role will focus on fostering a supportive atmosphere, encouraging personal growth, and effectively managing behaviors in youths facing various adversities. This position requires adherence to a flexible schedule, compliance with agency policies, and fulfillment of licensed obligations with relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate intake processes, including necessary documentation and program introductions for youth
  • Provide essential needs to youth upon their arrival, such as meals, clothing, and hygiene items
  • Ensure appropriate supervision of youth, maintaining required staff-to-youth ratios
  • Build positive relationships and serve as a role model to create a safe environment
  • Organize educational and recreational activities and assist with vocational training
  • Support youth during emergency evacuations
  • Maintain a facility that is always ready for inspections
  • Engage in light cooking and meal preparation on a daily basis

Essential Skills and Qualities:

  • Exhibits compassion and cultural awareness towards diverse groups
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with grace and professionalism
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and possesses a positive demeanor
  • Experience working effectively with at-risk youth populations

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience in youth work
  • Proficient in computer use and capable of maintaining a flexible work schedule
  • Valid driver's license, CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification or eligibility
  • Clear background check and drug screening results
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
