We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to provide exceptional care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care in a telemetry and observation setting.
Certification Requirements- Mandatory Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Specialty: Tele - Observation
- Contract Duration: 8 weeks
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
- RN must successfully complete the Basic Dysrhythmia exam (minimum 83%) prior to contract signing.
- Three attempts are allowed to pass the Basic Dysrhythmia test.
- Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac strips is essential.
- NIHSS certification is a must.
- Preferred experience of 2+ years; minimum of 1 year if confident and skilled.
- Experience in Neuro and Cardiac care is highly desirable.
- Shifts: 12 hours, from 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM
- Self-scheduling is permitted, with balance managed by the supervisor.
- Block scheduling is an option.
- Requirement of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week timeframe.
- Staffing is required for 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) and 2 minor holidays.
- Orientation includes a half-day session with HR and additional time with the unit educator for system access and tours.
- Travel nurses are prioritized for floating, primarily within the Tele pod or occasionally to MedSurg.
- Strong communication is encouraged, with readily available resources.
- All three monitor units collaborate closely.
- Experience with medications such as Cardizem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine drips following established protocols is beneficial.
- Common patient diagnoses include those admitted for short-term observation, such as chest pain rule-outs and cath lab patients.
- The facility is recognized as a certified center for heart attack and stroke interventions.
- Positive feedback has been received from traveling staff regarding the facility and its personnel.
- Uniform requirements include navy scrubs, with optional scrub jackets; undershirts must also be navy.
