Senior Java Developer Job Description

Infosys is seeking a skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Java-based web applications using Java 11 and Spring Boot.
  • Work in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirement gathering to implementation, delivery, test planning, execution, and production support.
  • Have knowledge of Agile Methodology (Scrum process) and understanding of key Scrum ceremonies like story grooming.
  • Ensure Sprint dedication and release goals are met, understand program/project objectives, and meet release goals.
  • Own the team on technical guidance and mentoring as needed.
  • Coordinate with offshore teams, client teams, and take end-to-end responsibility of project delivery.
  • Customer management, weekly reports/governance, and cadence with ITPMs, Architects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be located within commuting distance of Hartford, CT.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Three years of dynamic experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education will also be considered.
  • At least 8 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Experience in Java, Spring Boot development.
  • Experience in REST, Spring Boot, Microservices, Spring Security, XML, XSLT, JAXB, JAXP, MVC.
  • Solid understanding of backend technologies such as J2EE, Spring, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • U.S. citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to be a part of a diverse team/multiple stakeholder environment.
  • Good knowledge in Angular or React or JavaScript.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms.
  • Experience using continuous deployment/continuous integration (CI/CD) technology.
  • Analytical skills to identify root cause and come up with solutions/alternatives.
  • Working in an agile environment-with Scrum, Kanban, SAFe methodologies.
  • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
