Job Summary

Ochsner St. Mary-Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Radiology/Cardiology. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound exams and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound exams on patients, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of ultrasound technology and its applications in Radiology/Cardiology.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • ARDMS OB/GYN certification required.
  • ACLS certification preferred for certain specialties.
  • BLS - AHA certification required, with renewal if expiring within 30 days.
  • PALS certification required for certain nursing specialties.
  • NRP certification required for certain nursing specialties.
  • TNCC certification required for certain specialties.
  • AWONN INTERMEDIATE certification required for L&D RNs.
  • Tech Cert Verification required for various tech positions.
  • State License 1 Verification required, active LA License or Compact License.
  • NURSYS Verification required.
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute certification required for certain specialties.
  • Color Blind Testing Online required for some positions.
  • Competency Exam required for all candidates.
  • Health documents and verifications specific to specialty required.
Work Environment
  • Specialty: Radiology/Cardiology.
  • Certs Required: ARDMS OB/GYN.
  • Certs Preferred: BLS.
  • Special Procedures: OB/GYN experience is a must, with the tech working solo at a high-volume clinic.
  • Preferred: high-risk fetal medicine.
  • Ratios: Days 1:5.
  • Avg Daily Census: 12-13 patients daily.
