Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Multi-Modality Imaging Technologist to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine and complex imaging exams in assigned modalities, including X-ray, CT, MRI, Mammography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and Interventional Radiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
  • Prepare and/or administer, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verify archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
  • Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
  • Apply principles of radiation safety, magnetic resonance safety, and/or ultrasound safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
  • Assist the licensed practitioner in interventional procedures.
  • Perform imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Select appropriate imaging parameters with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) as a sonographer ARRT(S) or RDMS or CCI certification in medical sonography or RDCS certification in cardiac sonography or RVT certification as Vascular Technologist and at least one of the following specialty certifications: MRI, CT, PET, ARDMS or CCI or RDCS or RVT-specialty certification, VI or CI or CCI, Mammo.
  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required), Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Required).
