We are seeking a part-time music teacher to join our team at Notre Dame School of Bethlehem, Diocese of Allentown. In this role, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in music, fostering a love for learning and creativity.

Job Overview

This is a part-time position working Tuesday and Thursday between 7:15 am -3:15 pm and Wednesday between 11:15am-3:15pm. As a music teacher, you will be responsible for providing daily instruction and selecting age-appropriate activities in the curriculum area of music.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs and abilities of students
  • Teach students to understand music and develop their musical skills through hands-on activities
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social interaction and learning
  • Organize and direct the school chorus, preparing them for performances and events
  • Post grades and communicate with parents as required by the school system
  • Stay current with educational practices and standards through professional development and reading
  • Maintain student supervision and safety during classes and events

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Education preferred
  • PA Teacher certification preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Possess an understanding of child development and teaching skills
  • Ability to handle classroom situations with fairness and patience
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and credibility

Estimated Salary: $60,000 per year (depending on experience)
