About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Global Furniture Group. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily functions of the team and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Engagement: Assist with employee engagement activities and annual internship program to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Play a crucial role in guiding diversity and inclusion initiatives to promote a culture of respect and equality.
  • Recruitment: Perform recruitment activities, including prescreens, requisition maintenance, and attendance at job fairs to attract top talent.
  • Training and Development: Schedule training and development courses to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Reporting: Generate reports for EEO-1 and affirmative action reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Customer Service: Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Administrative Support: Facilitate the processing of terminations and new hires, and assist with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Meetings and Interviews: Schedule meetings and interviews as requested to ensure smooth communication and decision-making.
  • Clerical Functions: Perform other clerical functions, such as making photocopies, mailing, scanning, and emailing documents.
  • Electronic File Management: Work on transferring paper employee files into electronic files to improve efficiency and reduce paper waste.
  • Correspondence and Presentations: Assist or prepare correspondence and presentations as requested to support business objectives.
  • Leave of Absence Administration: Provide assistance with Leave of Absence Administration to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience working in the human resources field.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees and management.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of working for a government employer with a background in Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements preferred.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex HR issues.
  • Integrity: Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • HR Principles: Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures to support business objectives.
  • Software Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems, ADP Workforce Now.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
