Key Responsibilities

The Environmental Services Worker plays a vital role within our organization, operating under the direct supervision of the Environmental Supervisor. This position involves performing essential housekeeping tasks in a systematic and hygienic manner to ensure that hospital facilities are maintained in a clean, orderly, and appealing condition. This is crucial for creating a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

Compensation Information

The compensation range for this position is $16.99-$17.50 per hour. This range is provided to comply with New York State law regarding salary transparency in job advertisements. The listed compensation does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Several factors may influence the final compensation, including location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, and internal equity.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum Experience: Basic proficiency in English is required, including the ability to read, write, and follow instructions. Previous experience in a housekeeping or custodial role is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements: This position primarily involves light work, including lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional bending, twisting, and reaching. The role requires standing or walking for extended periods and the ability to communicate effectively.

Working Conditions:
  • Environmental Demands: Work is conducted in a clean, well-lit, and ventilated facility with minimal exposure to hazards.
  • Physical Demands: Candidates must demonstrate the physical ability to perform tasks requiring full range of motion and dexterity, including the ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Mental Demands: This role requires the ability to foster collaborative relationships, manage pressure, and prioritize tasks effectively. Attention to detail is essential in an environment with potential interruptions.
