The Medical Assistant Professional at MUSC plays a vital role in supporting patient-centered care. This position requires a multi-skilled individual who can assist physicians with examinations and treatments, while also maintaining accurate medical records.


Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough patient interviews to gather information for medical records
  • Measure and record vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring a clean and organized environment
  • Perform various tasks to support a decentralized patient-centered approach, working closely with healthcare teams

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of patient care experience preferred
  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program
  • Certification through a recognized organization, such as the American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
