The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Engineer, Senior to join our team in supporting national security initiatives. As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to combine your technical expertise with big-picture thinking to drive impactful solutions.

As a Linux Systems Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for leading engineering and design efforts to shape the solutions on our Navy client's network. Your expertise in implementing and managing Linux Server-based server solutions in an enterprise network environment will be invaluable in this role.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in engineering server solutions to support LDAP, SSO, and VMware integrations, as well as experience with designing and configuring Linux server integration with antivirus, backup, patch management, and system monitoring solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage Linux Server-based server solutions in an enterprise network environment
  • Engineer server solutions to support LDAP, SSO, and VMware integrations
  • Design and configure Linux server integration with antivirus, backup, patch management, and system monitoring solutions
  • Experience with Linux server patch management repositories
  • Experience with implementing Red Hat or other Linux Operating Systems STIG remediations
  • Experience with scripting languages, including PowerShell, VBScript, or Python
  • Experience with deploying containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • DoD 8570 for IAT2 Level Certification, including Security + or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in coordinating with change control and environment management, network, and security teams
  • Experience in automation of server deployment, common tasks, and installation procedures
  • Experience with VMware virtual server environments and configuring systems for maximum performance and operating flexibility
  • Knowledge of networking technologies, including managing Windows systems and applications running on these systems
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead the Navy's IT Modernization Cloud initiative and develop strategies and tactics required by the organization
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or Computer Science
