Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct lectures, demonstrations, and practical training sessions covering various plumbing topics, including codes, blueprint interpretation, pipefitting, system design, and repair methodologies.
  • Educate students on safety measures, emphasizing the correct use of tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) in plumbing practices.
  • Utilize real-world scenarios and case studies to clarify plumbing principles and their applications.
  • Guide and support students during hands-on training in the plumbing workshop, showcasing proper methods for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Assist in the creation of training resources for formal instruction; demonstrate proficiency in reviewing, discussing, and presenting these materials to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Deliver training on policies and procedures in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage student coordination and scheduling, oversee data collection, and ensure meticulous documentation while continuously seeking opportunities for program enhancement.
  • Evaluate testing outcomes and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Significant experience as a licensed plumber in both residential and commercial settings, with comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • At least one year of prior teaching experience in a classroom setting.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for motivating students to pursue a career in plumbing.

Physical Demands

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and verbal communication are required while performing job duties.
