Job Summary

The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As a LPN, you will provide direct care to patients, administer medications, and maintain close communication with supervisors and RNs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer treatments as directed.
  • Takes and records vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration).
  • Pours, administers, charts and records medications.
  • Gives prescribed intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and inoculations.
  • Observes patient behavior and condition and reports changes to appropriate staff.
  • Records information on patients' charts.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Delaware practical Nurse license, Delaware temporary license or multi-state compact license.
  • At least six months experience as a Practical Nurse for LPN II and LPN III positions.

The DHSS Recruitment and Referral Incentive Program offers recruitment incentives and referral bonuses to eligible candidates. New employees accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of employment with DHSS.
