Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team at Storyteller Overland. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and customizing high-performance adventure vehicles, ensuring precision, durability, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble chassis components, including suspension systems, engine mounts, and steering systems
  • Install 4WD conversion kits and perform modifications to chassis and cab to accommodate expedition vehicle needs
  • Install custom bumpers, grills, storage racks, storage boxes, and winches
  • Remove and mount tires on vehicles
  • Install sub-frames on chassis to support living quarters of expedition vehicles
  • Mount diesel heaters and hydronic heating systems to chassis
  • Perform basic engine work, including preventive maintenance
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision to assist the team in the use, fabrication, installation, and testing
Requirements:
  • AAS Technical/Trade degree or associate degree preferred, and/or relevant experience
  • Automotive experience is a must
  • Diesel training is preferred but not required
  • General knowledge of computers, electrical assembly, basic electronic troubleshooting, mechanical assembly and repair, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and/or audio-visual equipment operation desired
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical specifications
Working Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking around the manufacturing floor
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Precision and coordination are crucial for assembling intricate components and operating machinery
  • Exposure to Hazardous Materials: In some cases, employees may be exposed to chemicals or substances used in the manufacturing process
