Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to supervise and guide pedestrians at designated school crossing locations. As a School Crossing Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe flow of traffic and protecting the well-being of children and adults alike.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and guide pedestrians at designated school crossing locations
  • Manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic to ensure safe street crossing
  • Utilize signs, hand signals, flags, and instincts to control car and foot traffic conditions
  • Report any traffic violations or suspicious behavior to your supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with City of Wildwood's procedures for the safe crossing of children as prescribed by the Florida Department of Transportation and the City of Wildwood Police Department
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a Florida Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have reliable transportation getting to and from work
  • Certification through the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Crossing Guard program or ability to obtain certification
  • Must pass a law enforcement/school background check and drug screening
