Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

At Healthier Mississippi People, we are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant will assist the nursing staff in providing direct and indirect patient care, under the guidance and direction of the registered nurse. This includes performing various tasks such as collecting and recording vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support to patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients
  • Perform clerical duties, such as scheduling appointments and arranging transportation
  • Collect and deliver specimens and supplies to appropriate locations
  • Clean and assemble equipment, and report any issues to the nurse manager
  • Perform venipuncture, blood glucose testing, and point of care testing, as directed
  • Assist the RN in meeting patient elimination needs, including urinary catheter removal and administering enemas
Requirements:
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the Mississippi State Department of Health
  • CPR (Heartsaver or BLS) certification within 90 days of employment
Physical and Environmental Demands:

This role requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments, including high noise levels and exposure to heat and cold. The successful candidate will also be required to lift, reposition, and transport patients, linen carts, and other equipment using proper body mechanics.
