Child Life Specialist

At Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS), we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. As a Pediatric Psychosocial Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the emotional and developmental well-being of our pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' psychosocial and developmental needs and develop plans for therapeutic interventions.
- Provide support and education to patients and their families on coping strategies, behavior management, and parenting techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and develop effective working relationships with healthcare professionals.
- Identify and coordinate family meetings to address patients' needs and provide grief and bereavement support.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation of patients' developmental needs and coping strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Human Development and Family Studies, Counseling, Child Development, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field.
- Prefer a Master's degree in a related field.
- Two to three years of related experience.
- Licensure as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) within six months of hire date.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
