{"h1": "Transport Aide Job Description", "p": "At UNC Health Care, we are seeking a skilled Transport Aide to join our team. As a Transport Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients, supplies, and equipment throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities:

* Transport patients and relay pertinent patient information to appropriate teammates
* Follow proper identification procedures to ensure transportation of the correct patient
* Obtain appropriate transport equipment for the task
* Monitor patient during transport and call appropriate teammates if patient appears to be in distress
* Provide appropriate life support equipment for patient transport
* Obtain appropriate documentation to accompany the patient to their destination
* Operate computerized transport system
* Instruct Radiology teammates in the operation of portable oxygen equipment
* May assist and monitor radiology patients
* Prepare CT dos kits for outside offices and prepare inpatients for CT dosing
* Clean/sanitize transport equipment after use
* Return all transport equipment to the proper storage area when not in use
* Evaluate transport equipment for inventory and equipment maintenance
* Notify the Emergency Department Supervisor if repairs are required
* Complete additional and routine tasks as assigned
* Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and tact in all patient, teammate, and provider interactions
* Participate in continuing education and in-services as required
* Apply knowledge of principles of standard precautions
* Routinely use personal protective equipment (PPE) to avoid risk of exposure to self and others
* Exhibit knowledge and basic understanding regarding the needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, and the cultural needs of all patients

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent required
* BLS within 6 months of employment required
* One month healthcare patient transport experience preferred
* Ability to lift and transport patients safely and efficiently
* Ability to recognize patients in distress and call for appropriate help
* Good interpersonal skills
* Demonstrates a cooperative attitude and team effort in the performance of all duties
* Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
* Basic knowledge of computers
