Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse to join our team at a large hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric critical care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans to ensure the highest level of care for pediatric patients.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to ensure timely and effective care.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
  • Strict requirement 2 years recent PICU experience at a large hospital.
  • Mixed medical/surgical PICU. Primary assignment is PICU, traveler should expect occasional floating to CICU.
  • BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification.
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Passionate about patient care.
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Pediatric ICU experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited RN program.
  • Active unencumbered RN Texas state license.
  • One year of Epic experience.

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
