Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Arborist to join our team in NYC. The successful candidate will work on projects for NYC Parks, utilizing their technical knowledge and experience to guide the City's tree preservation and street tree programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor contractors' adherence to technical requirements and overall responsiveness and effectiveness.
  • Represent Arcadis and/or our client agencies in interactions with clients, local agencies, and the community.
  • Administer health and safety procedures as required by the owner and as detailed in the H&S manual.
  • Identify invasive plant species.
  • Hold and attend field meetings with contractors and owners to discuss progress, schedule, and work remaining.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Forest Biology, or Environmental Resources Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Must have access to a personal vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ISA TRAQ Qualification.
  • ISA Arborist Certification.
  • Capital Contract Supervision Oversight.
  • Woody Plant and Construction/Restoration Oversight.
  • 1-year practical experience in tree protection, pruning, installation, and establishment or related work.
