This is a unique opportunity to join the Veterans Health Administration team as a Clinical Psychologist in the Mental Health Service Line at the VA Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a full range of psychological assessment services and diagnoses mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult patients.
- Develop, implement, and document the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients.
- Provide education to patients, family members, and significant others.
- Provide consultation to professional staff within Mental Health Service and the VA generally and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients.
- Facilitate liaisons with other health care programs to effectively coordinate services.
- Comply with national and local performance measures.
- Comply with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g., entering diagnostic and procedure codes).
- Provide clinical supervision and instruction for pre-doctoral psychology interns and post-doctoral residents.
- Must possess a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).
- Must be proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Must have a current, permanent, full and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States.

- Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
- Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies.
