Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will focus on High Risk Cancer Genetics, supported by our advanced Neaman Center for Personalized Medicine (NCPM). In this role, you will be essential in identifying, assessing, and managing patients who are at heightened risk for hereditary cancer syndromes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough medical assessments for patients suspected of having hereditary cancer syndromes.
  • Order and analyze genetic tests to evaluate patients' cancer risk.
  • Create personalized risk management and assessment plans based on genetic insights and family medical history.
  • Provide genetic counseling and education to patients and their families about hereditary cancer risks and preventive strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists, surgeons, and genetic counselors, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Engage in research initiatives, including clinical trials and data analysis, to enhance understanding in the field of cancer genetics.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in cancer genetics research and apply evidence-based practices in clinical settings.
  • Participate in mentorship opportunities to enhance your expertise in cancer genetics and personalized medicine.
Qualifications:
  • MD/DO in Medicine is required.
  • Possession of or eligibility for an Illinois Medical License.
  • Controlled Substance/DEA License or eligibility.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible.
