Position Overview
Surgical Support Technician at Providence St Mary Medical Center. Opportunities for both Full Time and Part Time roles are available, featuring a 12-hour schedule with variable shifts.
In this role, under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will be responsible for preparing surgical cases, which includes organizing necessary surgical supplies and instruments, as well as maintaining a sterile environment during procedures. You will assist surgeons by providing the required sutures and instruments promptly. Additionally, you will participate in the thorough cleaning of the surgical area and instruments following the completion of procedures. This position also involves utilizing advanced skills acquired through specialized training to enhance patient care and optimize perioperative outcomes.
Qualifications Required:
- Completion of a Surgical Technician Program or 15 years of experience as an Operating Room Technician.
- Achievement of competencies in at least two service lines.
- Completion of environmental orientation within 30 days of employment.
- Fulfillment of unit-specific competencies within 90 days of employment.
- Current National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) upon hire.
- Minimum of one year of experience as an Operating Room Technician.
