Job Summary

Anderson Dahlen is seeking a skilled Welder II to join our team. As a Welder II, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of welding, layout, cutting, brazing, and soldering operations on various parts, components, and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welds a variety of materials, including structural and sheet metal, using gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma, and oxyacetylene cutting, as well as brazing.
  • Selects and uses the appropriate welding rods, wires, tips, and electrodes for specific operations.
  • Fits and positions parts according to drawing specifications, using locating fixtures and measuring devices as needed, and creates fixtures as required.
  • Checks work to ensure it meets quality standards and holds prescribed tolerances.
  • Tack welds as necessary and performs all positions of welding, sometimes in confined spaces.
  • Works from drawings, sketches, welding symbols, specifications, and instructions to plan work and determine methods and techniques.
  • Identifies job flow problems and recommends corrective action to ensure timely and efficient production.
  • Interprets drawings, sketches, welding symbols, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques.
  • Uses care to lay a smooth bead, obtains proper penetration and fusion, and manages distortion of weldments.
  • Performs assembly of products as required and maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Welds and finishes to customer specifications, applying various finishes as needed, and ensures customer appearance is a necessity.
  • May perform periodic field work as instructed.
Requirements
  • Welder qualifications per ASME Section IX and/or AWS D1.1 for GTAW, FCAW, and/or GMAW in Horizontal, Vertical, Overhead, and/or All Positions.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of welding experience.
  • Working towards completing training in Crane and forklift operation and rigging.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong math skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools, measuring instruments, and operation of welding equipment, including machine settings for various welding processes.
  • Ability to work on intricate welding processes, both hand and machine, to develop complex fabrications to closely prescribed standards.
  • Ability to perform some fixturing and set-up as required.
Physical Requirements

Anderson Dahlen fosters a manufacturing type environment. Moderately heavy work requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing 50 pounds or less. In the performance of essential duties, the incumbent may be required to operate a variety of industrial machining tools.
