Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  1. Schedule Outbound Freight: Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of products.
  2. Transactional Tasks: Perform data entry transactions with accuracy and maintain precise records, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  3. Daily Equipment Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of material handling equipment to ensure good working order and identify potential issues.
  4. Support Workload Shifts: Assist with task assignments to support workload shifts, ensuring seamless operation of shipping and receiving activities.
  5. Maintain Shipping Supplies: Ensure proper levels of ratchet straps and other shipping supplies are maintained for outbound shipments.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Timely and Accurate Receipt of Products: Receive all products against purchase orders, matching products to orders and tracking down missing or odd components.
  • Pickup and Delivery of Materials: Use company trucks and trailers to pick up and deliver materials as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain proper order of job shelves and assist with excess inventory items.
  • Shipment Setup and Completion: Set up and complete all incoming and outbound shipments, including FedEx, UPS, LTL, and shipment of completed jobs.
  • RMA and Vendor Returns: Request RMAs and complete vendor returns as needed.
  • Job Kitting Process: Assist with the job kitting process as directed by Purchasing/Shipping Manager or Shipping Lead.
  • Champion Shipping/Receiving Processes: Champion and defend shipping/receiving and kitting processes to maintain good order.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role or related logistics position is a plus but not required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform accurate data entry transactions, maintain precise records, and prioritize responsibilities effectively. Strong organizational skills and good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 50 lbs.), stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
