Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required. Experience in cooking and food service is essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively engage with the public while maintaining confidentiality. A valid driver's license is required, and current vehicle liability insurance is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the guidelines and regulations of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Summer Food Service Program, Health Department, Fire Department, and organizational policies.
- Assist in meal preparation, cleanup, and other tasks as directed by the Food Service Supervisor.
- Contribute to the preparation of nutritious meals and snacks.
- Prepare and set up meals for meetings and special events.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards during food preparation and handling.
- Collaborate effectively with all staff, agency programs, children, parents, and cultural groups while maintaining confidentiality and respect.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Food Service Supervisor during their absence or as needed.
- Participate in all staff meetings and training sessions as requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Environmental Requirements: Occasional travel within city limits for meetings and program site visits is necessary. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
