Salary Structure:
Level I: $10,650.54 Monthly
Level II: $12,253.08 Monthly
Level III: $13,476.33 Monthly
Level IV Range A: $15,754.00 Monthly

Role Responsibilities
Under supervision, attorneys in the County Counsel's Office provide legal guidance to various departments, special districts, and external agencies. Responsibilities include representing the County in litigation and business matters, as well as performing related duties.
The Attorney - Civil classification includes four levels, each reflecting varying degrees of expertise and responsibility:
- Level I: Entry-level attorneys with no prior legal experience, assigned to less complex tasks under close supervision.
- Level II: Attorneys with a minimum of one year of legal practice, handling average difficulty civil law matters with general supervision.
- Level III: Attorneys with at least one year of service as Level II or three years of legal experience, managing complex civil law assignments with minimal oversight.
- Level IV: Experienced attorneys with a minimum of four years in civil law, including three years in relevant public agency roles, tasked with the most challenging civil law assignments.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and abilities that align with the highest standards of the legal profession, with a focus on developing the skills necessary for a proficient civil attorney.
Employment Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Membership in the California State Bar is mandatory.
Documentation: Your California State Bar license number and issuance date must be included in your application.
Note: Incomplete applications lacking the required documentation will be disqualified.
Probationary Period
The probationary period for this classification is twelve (12) months.
