We are seeking a per-diem Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Penn Medicine Valley Forge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and coordinate ultrasound examinations
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound rooms and equipment
- Interview and screen patients, explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort and understanding
- Supervise and coordinate patient testing services, ensuring maximum quality and efficiency
- Ensure all necessary equipment, supplies, and records are available for patient care
- Provide education and support to patients and their families through various channels
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients to ensure effective use of specialized equipment and new procedures
- Assure the maintenance of patient testing records and unit equipment
- Participate in research projects as requested by the Division
- Communicate equipment problems and image quality issues
- Package and send genetic specimens
- Perform duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
Credentials:
Amer Reg Diag Med Sonographer (ARDMS) certification is required, along with Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and vascular (RVT) is required within 1 year of hire.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a graduate degree from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography school. At least 1 year of experience in ultrasonography is preferred.
