We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health & Safety Specialist to join our team at Absolute Staffing & Consulting Solutions. This role will be responsible for ensuring the safety program compliance of our client, a government agency in Pennsylvania.
The successful candidate will work with various agencies, including the Department of Corrections and the Game Commission, to identify and mitigate workplace hazards. They will also develop and deliver training on industrial hygiene and safety protocols.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial hygiene, excellent communication skills, and experience working with government agencies. They must be able to travel up to 20% of the time, including occasional overnight stays, and possess their own transportation.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Manage one safety onsite professional working with the Department of Corrections and ensure they meet agency needs.
- Conduct industrial hygiene investigations and develop associated reports.
- Develop and deliver training related to industrial hygiene.
- Plan and organize service requests to meet target dates and production goals.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training.
- Conduct assessments and audits in accordance with Accident and Illness Prevention Program (AIPP) and agency policies.
- Analyze data and prepare technical reports and give recommendations.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field or Bachelor's degree in any field and a PA L&I BWC AIPP Qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial hygiene/occupational safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Excellent assessment, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass PA Department of Corrections background checks for access into Correctional facilities.
Estimated Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience.
