Job Description

As a Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for leading the recruitment process, maintaining good communications with colleagues and departments, and providing HR support as needed. You will also maintain records of personnel-related data, ensure employment requirements are met, and act as a liaison with other departments. Your duties will include:

  • Maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
  • Establishing and maintaining good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments
  • Responding to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests
  • Redirecting HR-related calls or distributing correspondence to the appropriate person on the team
  • Maintaining records of personnel-related data (payroll, benefits, personal information, leaves, turnover rates, etc.) in both paper and the database
  • Ensuring all employment requirements are met
  • Acting as a liaison with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits, etc.)
  • Leading the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, issuing employment contracts, etc.
  • Scheduling meetings, interviews, HR events, etc., and maintaining the team's agenda
  • Coordinating training sessions and seminars
  • Ensuring new hire orientations are conducted
  • Developing the onboarding process and updating new hire records
  • Implementing policies and procedures
  • Responding to unemployment claims
  • Coordinating and facilitating benefit enrollment meetings
  • Processing payroll edits and reviewing payroll for accuracy
  • Reviewing insurance carrier invoices for accuracy
  • Assisting in recommending and supporting employee relations programs
  • Producing and submitting reports on general HR activity
  • Adhering to all standards of operations, policies, and procedures, manuals, memos, and verbal instructions
  • Maintaining 'open door' communication with employees
  • Controlling labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control
  • Responsible for interviewing, selecting, training, guiding, managing, and scheduling personnel
  • Monitoring and developing employee performance, including providing supervision, conducting counseling, evaluations, setting annual goals, and delivering recognition and rewards
  • Maintaining awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files
  • Familiarity with all safety and emergency procedures, including OSHA requirements
  • Attending relevant meetings

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a relevant field; additional education in Human Resource Management is a plus
  • Bi/multi-lingual skills are a plus
  • At least five (5) years' experience as an HR Director or a relevant human resources/administrative position
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom)
  • Ability to work with ATS software
  • In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, like resume databases and online communities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English Language
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Work well under pressure, requiring being a team player
