About the Role:
Mayo Clinic is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures for patients of all ages, under the supervision of qualified physicians.
Responsibilities:
- Autonomously performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient settings, portable and O.R. examinations.
- Reviews patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity and confirms the imaging orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Contacts the ordering physician if an inadequate reason for test is supplied.
- Utilizes advanced knowledge to perform diagnostic procedures and produces, assesses, and evaluates ultrasound images and related data.
- Exercises independent judgment in the interpretation and analysis of exams and provides a preliminary diagnosis of the technical findings to the physician.
Requirements:
- Must have an Associate's degree in a related field and a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program.
- Must be ARDMS registered (or registry eligible) in the areas of abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) and vascular technology (RVT).
- CPR/BLS Certified or obtained within 90 days of employment.
